A dog fills every part of the day, from the first walk to the last pat goodnight, which is why the house can feel so empty without them. Our dog memorials give that loyalty somewhere to live on: a slate marker for a grave in the garden, wooden urns for their ashes, memory boxes big enough for a lead, collar and favourite toy, and frames engraved with lines about paw prints and wagging tails.

Each piece carries their name, and most add dates, a photo or a verse. For more stone and slate markers, browse our plaques for a garden or grave, and our memorial frame range has further designs for a favourite photo of them.

Grave Markers, Urns and Memory Boxes for Dogs

Dog owners usually start with one of three things, so this range is grouped around them: marking a grave, keeping ashes, or keeping their belongings together.

  • Grave Marker and Outdoor Plaque: For a dog laid to rest at home, a natural slate marker engraved with their name or a few words of your own is pushed into the ground on its 20cm stake. There’s also a stone plaque, 15cm square, that shows their photo with a quote and can be left outside.
  • Wooden Urns for Ashes: A handmade Sheesham wood urn of 22 x 17 x 12cm, with brass paw inlays, is sized for larger breeds, and a personalised version adds engraving and a screw-slide lid. A smaller 16cm urn shows their photo, name, dates and an engraved paw print beneath a heaven quote.
  • Memory Boxes: The Sadly Missed dog box, at 30cm long, is engraved “Your little tail stopped wagging” and has room for a lead, collar and toys. A second large box is laser engraved with their name, and a 16cm vintage box suits a tag or a lock of fur.
  • Frames: An oak-finish frame is engraved “you left paw prints all over our hearts” with their name and “forever loved and never forgotten”. A “Sadly Missed” frame reads “You were a family member, a friend I’ll never forget”, and a solid oak book frame holds a 5x7 photo opposite its engraving.
  • Candles and Small Keepsakes: Two wooden tealight holders of 12 x 10cm carry their name and paw prints. A frosted candle, 10cm tall, lasts for roughly 80 hours of burning, and a small porcelain decoration on a silver ribbon reads “You left paw prints”.

Which Dog Memorial Is Right for You

Decide first whether you’re marking where they rest, keeping their ashes, or gathering their things in one place.

Tip: Measure the box or casket your dog's ashes came back in from the crematorium before ordering, and choose the urn whose inside will take it.

Words for a Dog Memorial

Dog memorials suit short lines that sound like you talking to them, including their nickname. You can write your own words for the slate marker and personalised urn; the frames and Sadly Missed box come with a verse and add only their name.

  • “Good boy, [Name]. Always.”
  • “[Name], [years]. Walks will never be the same.”
  • “Forever our best friend, forever our good girl.”
  • “Wait for us at the gate, [Name].”
  • “Every walk, every wag, every day, remembered.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mark my dog’s grave in the garden?

Our slate grave marker comes on a stake ready to push into soil and is weatherproof, and the stone photo plaque suits the same spot.

Do you have urns for dog ashes?

Yes. Choose a large Sheesham wood urn with brass paw inlays, a personalised version with a screw-slide lid, or a smaller photo urn engraved with their name and dates.

Is there something to send when a friend’s dog dies?

The porcelain paw prints decoration is a small gesture, and a frosted candle personalised with the dog’s name is a larger one. We’ll send either directly to them, without a price anywhere in the parcel.
